During this festival I happened to have only one night off work meaning the only game I could play was the €75+R on Monday night. I hadn't been sleeping great for a few days & there was a large part of me resigned to spending my night off catching up on some sleep. Rob however was determined to head in for this game & somehow managed to drag me into town with him.
I felt I played really well in the tourney, made a lot of good reads including the odd impressive lay down. I guess that's how I know I'm playing well, judgement & timing were bang on. There were no massive points of note to be honest, it was all fairly bog standard. I did get lucky on one occasion when I called a shorty shove with QQ, turned out he had AA but I pinged a Q to send him home. Yes I got lucky, but to be honest he had blinded himself down that much that losing that pot wouldn't have done me much damage anyway.
Rob, Dara & I all made it to the final table. Rob was short & didn't last long. Dara got very unluckily crippled in a huge pot where he got his AA cracked & exited soon after. I played fairly steady & bar one near catastrophe I survived until we were 4 handed & a deal was done. To be honest part of me wouldn't have minded playing on as I was joint chipleader at the time & felt I was playing well. The problem was the blinds were fairly big relative to stacks & the prizes were steep enough, so happy enough to call it a day, healthy profit & another hendon mob entry wrapped up.

Nice blog updates Cat.
Was just saying to Rob that the only problem with back dating them is they appear way down the "Blogs I Follow" lists of your followers.
Cheers Dara.
Yeah, it's a drawback alright, but it will be fully up to date within the next day or two, so anyone wanting to read it will get every last word fairly soon.
